Stella Maris Secondary School has been crowned champions of the just-ended Science for All quiz competition after outclassing Ndirande Hill Secondary School in the final match on Saturday, 9 July 2022 at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS).

Stella Maris and Ndirande Hill Secondary Schools stepped into the finals after scoring high over Zingwangwa and Ngumbe Secondary Schools in the preliminary round held at Malawi Liverpool Wellcome (MLW) Programme’s Blantyre Office on 2 July 2022.

Speaking on the sidelines of the final match, Science for All initiative Lead Dr. Kondwani Jambo, said he is proud of the students who participated in the quiz. He congratulated Stella Maris and encouraged the other schools to continue working hard in their academics.

Jambo said, “The aim of this quiz is not to see the winners but to inspire and motivate students to study hard and focus on their education to pursue science subjects which most people shun.”

As a prize, Stella Maris, which is an all-girls Secondary School, will receive laboratory equipment worth K500,000d and Ndirande Hill will receive lab equipment worth K200,000 from Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme.
