PhD student Emanuele Giorgi is the recipient of this year’s young investigator award at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) conference in New Orleans, USA for his presentation with moving animations of maps that show changes in malaria burden over time, aimed at fighting malaria in sub-Saharan Africa.
He won a first tier mention plus prize money in the session.
Emanuele Giorgi is doing a PhD in Statistics and Epidemiology at Lancaster University with supervisors Professor Peter Diggle and Dr. Anja Terlouw from Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust clinical research programme (MLW).
