MLW’s Communications Staff Participate in the 2023 Public Communication of Science and Technology Conference

Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme’s Communications and Public Engagement staff were part of this year’s Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) Conference that took place in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The Conference that ran from 11th to 14th April 2023 gathered practicing and emerging science communication professionals from different corners of the world to network and share experiences in the science communication field.

MLW’s Science Communication team that patronised the PSCT Conference in Rotterdam comprised the Head of Communications and Public Engagement Department Lindiwe Mafuleka, Communications and Policy Engagement Coordinator Pauline Hellen Mlogeni, and Communications and Engagement Officer Zuze Matoliro.

According to MLW’s Communications and Public Engagement Manager Lindiwe Mafuleka the conference brought to light some best practices that will be implemented within MLW.

“The conference was eye-opening and important for our work within MLW. We have met like-minded individuals who are doing great work in communicating science, and we will keep speaking with them to learn and share our work,” said Mafuleka.

The Public Communication for Science and Technology (PCST) conference takes place every 2 years. This year’s theme was ‘Creating Common Ground’. Around 500 delegates from over 59 countries attended the conference.
