MLW Donates Vehicle to Chikwawa DHO

MLW donated a vehicle to Chikwawa District Health Office (DHO) for emergency cases within the district. The vehicle donation was done after a meeting on 19 February with MLW representatives, headed by Head of Infrastructure and Communication Tamara Makawa, and the Chikwawa District Health Management Team (DHMT).

According to Field Sites Manager Chimwemwe Theu, the meeting with Chikwawa DHMT had several agenda items which included donation of the vehicle, discussions on the new building for MLW Chikwawa site and updates to the DHMT on current improvements of the Chikwawa site and DHO, particularly on the borehole powered electricity that provides water to the whole hospital.

“The meeting was a success, particularly on the vehicle donation. The DHMT appreciated the donation because this will address the burden of inadequate transport in case of emergencies in surrounding areas. The discussions on infrastructure are still in process and we will have to meet internally before we visit the DHMT again,” said Theu.
