On 4th November 2020, British High Commissioner to Malawi David Beer and Head of Mission, Rebecca Bell made a courtesy visit to MLW and saw some of the work that MLW has achieved in 2020. The two visited the refurbished High Dependency Respiratory Unit (HDRU)and the oxygen plant at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) and the MLW laboratory.

MLW Deputy Director, Prof. Henry Mwandumba and QECH Hospital Director Dr Samson Mndolo accompanied the visitors on their short tour of the HDRU unit and oxygen plant.

While at MLW, the High Commissioner met with several Senior Scientists who briefed him on MLW’s contribution to the COVID-19 national response.
